SANTIAGO CIMADEVILLA

Bandoneon

Born in Buenos Aires, he studied classical piano at the Manuel de Falla Municipal Conservatory. In Holland he studies bandoneon at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Victor Villena and Leo Vervelde. As a tango musician he works with many renowned musicians and ensembles in Europe. He has performed, as a soloist, several concerts for bandoneon and orchestra by Astor Piazzolla, such as the Concierto para-Bandoneon (Aconcagua) with the Symphony Orchestra of Liepaja (Latvia) and the Doble Concierto para-Bandoneon y Guitarra at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with the guitarist Federico Diaz Paez and the director Federico Abiuso. He performs regularly throughout Europe as a soloist and ensemble. He is bandoneonist of Los Taitas and of the Hernan Ruiz Trio, La Sieste du Dromadaire with Ananta Roosens, Tango 5, and often performs in duo with Marcos Di Paolo. He is a founding member of Splendor, the newest stage for the performing arts in Amsterdam. He currently works as a teacher and artistic research supervisor in the Master of Music department of the Music Department at CODARTS, University of the Arts (Rotterdam Conservatory). He was a guest of the Anton Stadler Association as a teacher of the Bandoneon International Masterclass within the ARTango & jazz Festival.
