ANDREA LUCCHESINI

Trained at the great piano school of Maria Tipo, Andrea Lucchesini began an intense international solo career at a very young age, after winning the “Dino Ciani” International Competition at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in 1983. Since then, he has played with the most prestigious orchestras and conductors such as C. Abbado, S. Bychkov, R. Abbado, R. Chailly, D. Gatti, G. Gelmetti, D. Harding, G. Noseda and G. Sinopoli. Andrea Lucchesini has recorded for Emi, Teldec and Agorà; the eight CDs live of Beethoven’s 32 Sonatas (Stradivarius) and the complete works for piano solo by Berio for Avie Records have received important accolades from critics, unanimous in applause even in front of the most recent cd dedicated to Schubert’s Improvvisi. He is called in 2005 by Piero Farulli to share the management of the Fiesole Music School becoming artistic director from 2008 to 2016; the excellence of the results achieved in the multifaceted and intense activity of musician earned him in the same year the appointment as Academician of Santa Cecilia. He was a guest of the Anton Stadler Association as part of the “International Chamber Music Festival”.
