Laurent Boutros at the age of twelve began his studies at the municipal conservatory of Alfortville. In 1984 the decisive meeting with the Argentine maestro Raùl Maldonado took place: it was under his guidance that Boutros studied the classical repertoire and South American folklore for several years. Born in France to parents of Armenian origin, he finds his musical path through a writing with Levantine sounds that is inspired by the traditional music of Armenia and the Caucasus. Laurent Boutros performs on several tours, in Europe, Asia and Central America. He is a guitar teacher at the Bures-sur-Yvette conservatory, of which he is also the director. For some years his music has been regularly performed and recorded by numerous French and international ensembles. In 2011 he is invited to play in Mexico for a 3-week tour in Toluca, Mexico, Cuernacaca. Boutros plays Savarez Alliance Corum strings on a Philipp Newmann guitar.
He was a guest of the Anton Stadler Association as part of the “ARTango & Jazz Festival”.
