IVANO SABATINI

Double bass

At the beginning of the 1980s he approaches jazz by studying double bass at Jazz University under the guidance of double bass player G. Tommaso. In these years he also undertakes classical studies which he will complete by graduating from the conservatory “O. Respighi” in Latina, follows specialization courses and collaborates with various symphony orchestras in central Italy, at the same time he studies with classical double bass player Dorin Marc. Interested more and more in Jazz, he attends seminars with big name double bass players, such as: Steve La Spina, Cameron Brown, Antony Jackson. He has also played and collaborated with various artists including: Giulio Capiozzo, Bruce Forman, Lello Panico, Paolo Fresu, etc. and during the participation in various Italian Jazz Festivals with the American artist Diane Schuur on the occasion of the Pescara Festival, under the guidance of the Conductor Russell Gloyd. He is currently the double bass player of the “Gianfranco Continenza Trio” with whom he carries out an intense concert activity of Contemporary Jazz. He was a guest of the Anton Stadler Association in the context of “I tramonti di Porto Flavia”.
