WALTER CARATELLI

Percussions

Graduated in percussion at the “L. D’Annunzio” conservatory in Pescara, during the years of his training, he perfected his study of drums with Enrico Lucchini. After completing his academic studies, he moved to New York where he specialized with Chad Wacherman at New York University practicing jazz and R&B in New York jazz clubs, but soon his curiosity for the search for new expressive languages ​​and for Latin rhythms, led him to move first to Cuba, where he specialized in Latin percussion (Congas and Bongò) and then to Barcelona, ​​finding in this cosmopolitan city the right fusion of jazz with Latin music. Back in Italy, he continued studying the technique and language of percussion, graduating with honors in “Chamber Music” and qualifying for teaching Percussion. He is currently Professor of Percussion at the Liceo Musicale Artistico e Coreutico MI.BE. of Pescara; he is Timpanist-Percussionist of the Dean Martin Orchestra of Pescara; he is percussionist-drummer of interesting musical projects such as Jeoff Warren 4tett, Maurizio Di Fulvio Trio. He was a guest of the Anton Stadler Association as part of the “ARTango & Jazz Festival”.
