Soloist, chamber musician, conductor, teacher and organizer, he has been one of the most appreciated interpreters on the international scene for over thirty years. His career, which began after studying in Pesaro and Bordeaux, has also taken him alongside prestigious orchestras (Scala, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic etc.) all over the world, where he proposes both the ‘historical’ pages for his instrument and the contemporary repertoire, an area in which he performs pieces often dedicated to him, of great authors of the twentieth century (from Nono to Kancheli, from Glass to Sciarrino, from Gentilucci to Fitkin). Founder of the Italian Saxophone Quartet and the Italian Saxophone Orchestra, with whom he has been touring the world for over twenty years, he has recorded for Delos, Chandos, RCA and INA the most important solo pieces, with orchestra and ensemble. More and more important is the activity of conductor with world-renowned orchestras and soloists: among the numerous engagements for the next seasons we remember, in Italy, the Festival of the Dolomites and the Festival delle Nazioni and the appointments with the orchestras Toscanini, Tito Schipa, Sinfonica Siciliana and Sanremo and abroad those with the Bangkok Symphony, the National Symphony Orchestra of Georgia and the St. Petersburg Symphony, where he has been a regular guest since 2009 in the season directed by Yuri Temirkanov. He has been a guest of the Association as part of the “I Tramonti di Porto Flavia” 2021 and the “Vinum in Musica” 2022.
