He studied at the Venice Conservatory with Adriano Vendramelli and Antonio Janigro. He has performed in major concert halls in the world, directed by prestigious names such as Claudio Abbado, Myung-Whun Chung, Valery Gergiev, Carlo Maria Giulini, Eliahu Inbal, Marek Janowski, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta and Seiji Ozawa.
He is very active in chamber ensembles and has collaborated with soloists such as the pianists Massimo Somenzi and Andrea Lucchesini, the violinists Gidon Kremer, Salvatore Accardo and Frank Peter Zimmermann. He is the founder and director of the Italian string orchestra. He is a teacher at the summer courses of the Chigiana Academy of Siena and is an Academic of Santa Cecilia. Since 2008 he has been the artistic director of the International Competition for String Quartet “Premio Paolo Borciani” of Reggio Emilia. In Castelfranco Veneto, his hometown, he holds concerts, courses and masterclasses at the Capannone Antiruggine, an old factory where iron was worked, converted into a concert hall: on the project the directors Patricia Barbetti and Roberta Pedrini made the documentary “In alto with music” for Swiss Radio and Television. He was a guest of the Anton Stadler Association as part of the “International Chamber Music Festival”.
