Francesco Manara attended the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Turin where he graduated in 1990 under the guidance of M. Marin. In 1992 he was chosen by Riccardo Muti to fill the role of First Violin Soloist of the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and won the first prize in the scholarship competition organized by the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra. He has collaborated as First Violin Soloist with the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, with the Bayerische Staatsoper Orchester and with the Royal Concertgebauw Orchestra. With the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto he recorded the Concerto by B. Compagnoli (Dynamic) and with the Filarmonica della Scala conducted by Muti the Sinfonia Concertante by Mozart (Sony) with the violist Danilo Rossi. In 2002 the trio made their debut at the prestigious “Carnegie Hall” in New York. Violin teacher at the “Accademia della Scala”, the Music School of Milan and the Academy of High Specialization in Portogruaro, he has been invited to give master classes in the United States, Japan, Colombia and Venezuela. He was a guest of the Anton Stadler Association as part of the “International Chamber Music Festival”.
