‘THE NEW TANGO’ is the title of the album signed Astor Piazzolla and Gary Burton recorded live during the 1986 Montreux jazz festival.
The scores of the original tracks, most of which were composed especially for Gary Burton, have been lost and nothing has been released to date.
A fascinating performance, fusing tango, jazz and classical music in one concert. A tribute to Piazzolla, the greatest tango revolutionary, and a tribute to Gary Burton, the greatest vibraphone revolutionary.
A tribute that goes beyond the usual compositions of the Argentine Maestro, which aims to keep alive a musical composition that has remained in the shadows and unperformed for too long.
